Every dog is different. On a female with regular cycle, 3-5 test may be enough. In other circumstances, they can require more.
On a bitch with irregular cycle, more tests might be needed.
There are special situations where the bitch started to increase the Progesterone level and they “stall” at certain value. That makes it more difficult and more progesterone tests will be needed.
Our recommendations are as follows:
Artificial Insemination 8+ to 12
TCI 12+ to 20
It all depends with the ovulation timing, schedule and quality of semen. In our experience, 2 inseminations (Artificial Insemination or TCI) should be enough, if the timing is good and the semen is of good quality. There are some occasions (depending on the cycle of your female) that we may suggest an additional insemination.
Surgical insemination can only be done once.
Brachycephalic breeds (like Bulldogs, French bulldogs, Boxer etc) have some anatomic conditions that require C-sections.
Large breeds (Labradors, Dobermans, Great Danes etc) with a singleton, or a large number of puppies are recommended to have C-section due to stress and being unable to finish the delivery of all her puppies. And, very small breeds (like Yorkies, Chihuahuas, Maltese etc) with either singleton or more than 4 or 5 puppies, are recommended for C-section.
Our C-section surgeries are first come, first serve Monday thru Friday. We highly recommend coming in as soon as we open in the morning to test her Reverse Progesterone. Testing her early will also save you a spot on our C-section list.
We value your time and business, we will try our best to accommodate you. Depending on how many surgeries we have lined up that day, will determine your waiting period.
A C-Section is a major abdominal surgery.
Our C-section price includes:
